Surplus Food Deliveries
Aber Food Surplus are an environmental project; as part of our efforts to reduce waste, we accept food which is still good to eat, but which would otherwise be thrown away, and use it in a variety of ways. Our food sharing hub is temporarily closed, and we are introducing two exciting delivery projects to help us reduce food being wasted!

Surplus Food Selection (Pay as you feel)
Surplus food is a bit ‘random’, whilst we’ll tailor the delivery to your household needs, we aren’t in a position to say in advance what food you will receive. You might need to get creative in the kitchen, use search engines to find new recipes, text your family for ideas, and try new dishes! Available Wednesday to Friday - Pay as you feel, plus delivery charge.
This pot-luck approach is a great way to try new foods, reduce your environmental impact, and learn new food saving tips! If you have food allergies however, you may wish to avoid using this food, due to the potential risk of cross-contamination. If there is something in your selection which you definitely won’t eat, please pass it along to a neighbour or friend (whilst sticking to social distancing of course).
Sofa Suppers (Suggested donation £3 per meal)
Tasty, healthy ready meals made from surplus food. Meals will be prepared in our Food Safe kitchen, and transported to your doorstep - enjoy a lovely meal with little effort, and help us reduce food waste from your sofa! Available Wednesday evenings.

Want to support the project, but don’t need any food yourself at this time, or want to support someone who might not be able to afford to use this or other delivery services? Please use the payment system to make a donation without filling out the order form.
Delivery (£3.50)
As an environmental project, we are committed to keeping our carbon emissions low, and making our delivery routes as efficient as possible. As such, to begin with, we are limiting our area of operation to Aberystwyth (including Penparcau); Borth (where we are partnering with the Family Centre), and along the road to Pontrhydfendigaid.
This will also help us as an organisation, as we operate on a shoestring budget.
Price
We have made this service an affordable and accessible environmental choice. The delivery charge is to help cover our operational costs of collecting, sorting and storing food, combined with delivering it to you.
Please get in touch if you have feedback on this, we welcome your ideas on how we can support the community at this time and conversations about our food system.
